Characteristics
The blade is made of modified stainless steel. Thanks to the chromium content, it is anti-corrosive and does not require special maintenance. Carbon content of at least 0.40%, which ensures excellent sharpness. The hardness of the blade is 57-58 HRC.
Beech is the most commonly used wood material in the manufacture of Opinel handles. Real beech from France, strong, durable and easy to process. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark lines.
The Yatagan type (Turkish saber) blade with a curved profile adds extra durability to the knife.
The Virobloc locking system, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, is installed on all folding knives starting from the number 06. The stainless steel Virobloc locking system ensures safety in both the open and closed (transport) position of the knife.
